14. _S_u_p_p_o_r_t_e_d__M_e_d_i_a__F_i_l_e__F_o_r_m_a_t_s
The Digital Media Execution Environment includes shared
libraries (DSO's) which implement read/write support for a
variety of standard digital media file formats. These file
formats can be created and read by any applications which
are based on these DSO's, including the standard digital
media commands and tools which are shipped with
dmedia_eoe.sw.base and dmedia_eoe.sw.tools.
The shared libraries which implement support for digital
media file formats are:
+o lllliiiibbbbaaaauuuuddddiiiiooooffffiiiilllleeee....ssssoooo:::: the Audio File Library (installed from
_d_m_e_d_i_a__e_o_e._s_w._l_i_b).
+o lllliiiibbbbmmmmoooovvvviiiieeeeffffiiiilllleeee....ssssoooo:::: the Movie File Library (installed from
_d_m_e_d_i_a__e_o_e._s_w._l_i_b).
+o lllliiiibbbbiiiiffffllll....ssssoooo:::: the Image Format Library (installed from
_i_f_l__e_o_e). See the release notes for the "Image Format
Library Execution Environment" for more information.
Digital media tools for converting between different sound,
movie, and image file formats include _d_m_c_o_n_v_e_r_t(_1) and
_m_e_d_i_a_c_o_n_v_e_r_t(_1). There are a variety of digital media tools
included in _d_m_e_d_i_a__e_o_e which provide recording, playback,
import/export, and editing support for the sound and movie
formats supported by _l_i_b_a_u_d_i_o_f_i_l_e._s_o and _l_i_b_m_o_v_i_e_f_i_l_e._s_o.
